Frequently Asked Questions

What's better, in person or online?

Although online lessons are great for students who live far away and are unable to make the trip.
In person lessons offer a variety of benefits that are difficult to replicate in an online setting.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask that you provide me with at least 24 hours notice before rescheduling a lesson.

I offer a 4 week grace period, in which we can reschedule the lesson before it is forfeited.

I’m very flexible and accommodating when it comes to rescheduling lessons. I’ve never had anyone forfeit a lesson because we couldn’t find a time to reschedule.

How long should lessons be?

I usually recommend 60 minutes as a good length for both adults and adolescents.

30 or 45 min for younger children as their attention spans are generally shorter.

Do you offer a free trial lesson?

Would you go to a restaurant and ask for a free trial burger?

Can you help me find a good used kit on the cheap and set it up/tune it?

Absolutely! I have helped many people navigate the wilds of kijiji, ebay etc, and find a great and affordable used kit.
I can help you set it up and tune it as well!

What is your availability?

My schedule is flexible. Whether you want to do a class during a weekday evening, a weekend morning or anywhere in-between. I’m confident that we can figure out a time that works for you.

Do I need to practice outside of lessons?

Yes! Most of the actual learning is self-directed and takes place outside of lessons.

Although I can offer my guidance and support. It’s your adventure and you have to slay your own dragon.

Why should I commit to a monthly package?

The only way to see real progress is consistency and committing to a monthly bundle of classes establishes a regular schedule, which promotes habit formation and continual progress.

Furthermore, it creates a sense of accountability and investment, encouraging students to attend regularly in order to get the most value from their financial commitment.

In contrast, drop-in, or week-to-week classes lack this structure, which makes it easier to skip sessions and potentially lose momentum.
